Indication/Uses: 

1. Symptomatic Treatment of Stable Angina Pectoris:
   • Used as an add-on therapy for stable angina pectoris in adults who are inadequately controlled by or intolerant to first-line antianginal therapies such as beta-blockers or calcium channel blockers.
2. Adjunct Therapy:
   • Employed as an adjunct therapy in the management of angina to help reduce symptoms of chest pain.

Uses:

1. Anti-Ischemic Agent:

   • Trimetazidine works by improving myocardial glucose utilization through inhibition of fatty acid metabolism. This helps to maintain energy production during ischemia, thereby protecting the heart cells from damage and reducing the frequency and severity of angina attacks.

2. Cytoprotective Properties:

   • It helps in preserving cellular energy metabolism during episodes of hypoxia or ischemia, which can be beneficial in reducing symptoms in patients with stable angina.

3. Improvement in Exercise Tolerance:

   • Patients using trimetazidine may experience an improvement in exercise tolerance and a reduction in the frequency of angina attacks.

Dosage and Administration:

  • The recommended dose is one 35mg modified-release tablet taken twice daily, once in the morning and once in the evening during meals.
